My name is Dan Gasner, but most of my friends call me Gaz.  I’m a husband, a father, and a high-school teacher.  I was also a high school football coach.  Recently, I proudly added grandfather to that list.  If you know me, you know I’m on open book.  So I figured… Why not write one?  So I did.

My name is Dan Gasner. I was born in Rochester, Minnesota, back in the 1960’s. I just turned 60, and I thought it was time to share my life adventures. I am one of six kids from a middle-class family. My stories are all true about dealing with grief, depression, and the ups and downs of life. I have been married for 34 years to a wonderful woman named Kris Ann and have three adult children.

I am a high school teacher and coach. I don’t know anyone who has not faced grief in their life. I have lost two siblings tragically, one was murdered, and the other committed suicide. I have also had a mom who struggled with bipolar depression since I was 12 years old, and my wife is a cancer survivor.

This is not a book about poor me, but a book about perseverance and inspiration. I want people, especially men, to know you are not alone, and we all face challenges in our lives. It’s all about your attitude and wiping yourself off and getting back up after adversity. God gave me the strength to write my book. I also believe humor is so important to have in our lives. Family means everything to me, so I hope you enjoy my roller coaster true-life stories.
